Naaalala n’yo pa ba ito? Isa sa pinaka-inaabangan ng mga Pilipinong manonood noong 90s ang espesyal na pagtatanghal na ito ng programang Magandang Gabi Bayan sa pangunguna ni Noli “Kabayan” de Castro. Ang Halloween Special ng MGB ay kadalasang ipinapalabas tuwing nalalapit na ang ika-isa ng Nobyembre o ang Araw ng mga Patay at Araw ng mga Kaluluwa. Sa special presentation na ito ng MGB mapapanood ang mga nakakatakot at nakakapangilabot na istorya na nakalap ng buong MGB team.

Ako mismo ay taun-taong nag-aabang sa MGB Special na ito bagamat lagi akong natatakot pagkatapos ko silang panoorin. At sa dinami-dami ng mga nakakapanindig-balahibong istorya ng programang ito, may dalawang episode na tumatak sa isip ko. Una ay ‘yung istorya na tungkol sa babaeng nai-record sa cassette tape ang boses umano ng Kapre na nakatira sa puno na nakatanim sa kanilang bakuran. Hindi ko makalimutan ‘yung boses na nai-record nila sa cassette at sa tuwing nagre-record ako noon ng paborito kong kanta sa cassette ay hindi ko maiwasang maalala ang naturang episode ng MGB. Isa pang naalala ko ay ‘yung istorya tungkol sa diumano’y sumasayaw na estatwa ng Sto. Niño. Marahil napaka-imposible pero hindi ko alam kung bakit tumatak sa isip ko ang istoryang ito. At dahil dito ay natakot na ako sa malalaking estatwa ng mga poon noong bata.

Ngayong nalalapit na naman ang Undas, hindi ba’t nakaka-miss panoorin ang Halloween Specials ng Magandang Gabi Bayan tuwing Sabado?
